You're staring at that blinking cursor, unsure of what to do. Sound familiar?
The first time you sit down to write a paper in MLA format, it can be scary and overwhelming. Luckily, I have created several tutorials and step-by-step instructions so that going through this process is clearly explained. If you go through each page, you will not only be able to turn in a paper with confidence, but you'll also be able to learn the formatting. Next time it won't be nearly so daunting.
The Basics:
- Always format everything to Times New Roman, 12pt font. This is a standard font used for its readability and clear formatting.
- Make sure your margins are always set to 1 inch on each side, top, and bottom.
- Never bold, italicize, or underline anything unless you are doing so to follow the format guidelines for the title of a piece of work.
- Always have it set up to automatically double space. *Note* Those of you using the newest version of Office will need to hit the no spacing button BEFORE setting the double space and typing anything on any page. If you do not do this, you will have extra spacing between paragraphs.
